These buildings were constructed in early 1942 on a 6,000 acre site developed for the manufacture of bombs and other munitions used in WW II. Few of the buildings still exist, and mounds of earth cover equipment and other items left behind when the war ended.

Here are examples of the lumber being pulled from the buildings. For the most part it has been well protected from the elements and is very dry - ready for milling into many different products such as flooring, paneling and furniture.

The most amazing feature of the 50'x200' buildings is the truss structure that holds up the 50' span. These photos illustrate how they were constructed. Examples of the lumber in them are as follows:
2.5" x 5.5" x 10' - 22'
3" x 13" x 16' or 22'
2.5" x 9.5" x 18'
2 5/8" x 11.5" x 17.5'
2 5/8" x 11.5" x 10'
2.5" x 5.5" x 18'
We also have 2"x4"s, 7.75"x .75"s, 3.5"x 1.5"s etc.

We are taking the trusses down carefully, intact, to both keep the lumber from being damaged, and to have available full 50' trusses for sale intact to any who are as impressed by them as we are.
